Well, it’s February 1, which means I’ve successfully written 31 blog posts…one twelfth of the way to the end of the year.

I’m learning some things about my own blogging practices:

• If I write in the morning it’s far easier
• I tend to write my best long-form posts from flashes of inspiration throughout the day (from reading an article, for example)
• If I procrastinate until the very end of the day, my post is almost always perfunctory
• I don’t always have something to write about–in which case writing is as much an exercise in discovery as composition
• I’ve only ‘cheated’ once — waited until the following day to write the previous day’s post

I’m curious to see how February goes. Aiming for zero cheats, but can’t promise quality content every day 🙂
